A LIGHT IN THE TUNNEL
“And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me. I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.”
John 12: 45, 46

Are you in the tunnel of despair, loneliness, depression and heartache? Jesus not only is the light of our salvation; He is the light of every heartache and
burden that we bear. Our loved ones and friends can encourage and comfort us,
but only Jesus can put His light of compassion, tenderness and understanding in the dark, hidden parts of our hearts.
Jesus is more than our Saviour; He is a Friend beyond compare. He never leaves us, not even for a second. Many times we leave
Him but He remains loyal to us. I’m reminded of the wife who said to her
husband when they were in the car driving down the street “We don’t sit close to each other like we used to do”. The husband replied “I haven’t moved”. Jesus hasn’t moved and never will move.
I heard a pastor say in a sermon “We were in a cave and we literally
could not see our hands in front of our face”. Sometimes the darkness of
verbal and physical abuse blocks our vision of Jesus. It is then that we need
to cry out to Jesus from the depths of our hearts for Him to rescue us. He is
waiting for us to call Him.
Yes, many times we have tunnels of darkness, but sometimes we are guilty
of causing tunnels of hurt in someone else. May God forgive us if we have contributed
to the tunnels of darkness in our loved ones and friend’s hearts! If you
are in the tunnel of sin today, let Jesus shine His light of salvation in your heart.

THE SHEPHERD PSALM
"The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want:" (Psalm
23, NIV).
This psalm is one of the most popular psalms. Many people
have learnt it by heart right from their childhood. .
The thrust of the psalm is the trust in the Lord who is like
a shepherd to the composer of the psalm, David. David, being once a shepherd, knew the relationship of the shepherd to the
sheep. He knew how the sheep usually rely on the guidance, protection and provision of the shepherd. He therefore applied
that relationship and reliance on himself and God.
Because God was his shepherd, David said he would not be in
want. This does not mean that he would have all that he might selfishly desire, but all he needed. Ordinarily, sheep need
two basic things - "green pasture" where they can find good food, and a place where they can conveniently drink water. So
anyone who puts his total trust in God this new year will experience both physical and spiritual nourishment from God. Such
person can claim the promise in Philippians 4:19: "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in
Christ Jesus" (NIV. See also Matthew 6:33).
Apart from divine nourishment, anyone who trusts God will
experience divine restoration. As the shepherd leads his sheep to quiet waters for rest and cleansing, likewise, the Lord
will restore or refresh the souls of all who trust in Him. That is He will provide forgiveness and peace to all who follow
Him.
The Lord will lead all who trust in Him in the right way.
He will guide them in all their ways and make sure that they do not go astray. Even if they mistakenly do, He will, because
of His reputation, bring them back to the fold (see Luke 15:3-7).
Closely related to this is God's protection for all who put
their trust in Him. If such people find themselves in dangerous situation, they need not fear any evil. The reason is that
God is with them to protect them just as the shepherd would use his rod and staff to protect his sheep from such situation.
Believers in God are never in situations that the Lord is not aware of, for He never leaves or forsakes His people (see Hebrews
13:5).
Verse 5 corroborates the affirmation of David in the latter
part of verse 1 - the Lord will provide for him. As a good host provide for the comfort of his guest, so the Lord will provide
abundantly for all those who trust in Him, even in the presence of their enemies!
Having realized that the goodness, love, and mercy of God
would be with him throughout his life, David, in response to all these, resolved to always be in God's presence forever.
Jesus Christ said, "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd
lays down his life for the sheep" (John 10:11, NIV. See also Isaiah 40:11). What a great privilege to have Him as our Great
Shepherd! However, have you made Him your shepherd? Are you putting your total trust in Him this new year? Be like David!
Put your total trust in Him. You will never be in wants this year. Amen!

Eagles In A Storm..............
Did
you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks? The eagle will fly high and wait for the winds
to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm
rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.
The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to fly higher.
It rises on the winds that bring the storm.
When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them
- we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow
God's power to lift us above them.
God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure
and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.
Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down,
it is how we handle them.
Friends even Bible speaks the same thing in Isaiah 40:31, But those who hope in the LORD will renew their
strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
The
Light of the World
"When
Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, `I am the light of the world.
Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light
of life'" (John 8:12).
Scripture Focus: John 8:12-30
A
thrilling part of the ceremonies of the Feast of Tabernacles came when
the priests lit the giant lamps in the temple court. The people gathered
to sing praises to God, remembering how He had provided the pillar of
fire at night when their ancestors lived in the wilderness (Numbers
9:15-23).
This
time the people enjoyed the symbol without recognizing that the reality
was in their presence. They loved the shadow, but Jesus was the
substance. "I am the light of the world," He announced.
Our
world is full of darkness and spiritual delusion. Evil holds whole
nations in its clutches. But Jesus promises that whoever follows Him
will be bathed in pure beams from God. Jesus, as the light of the world,
brings salvation and a totally new atmosphere in which believers can
walk. In Jesus' light, His followers are able to discern what is evil
and will be guided to the truth. They live in the light, for no matter
how evil their surroundings, it can never blot out the light, for the
light of life lives within them.
Insight: Though you were born
in darkness, you can step into the light and live there as you trust Jesus and follow Him daily.

Never Alone................
"Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken"
(Isaiah 62:4), "Forsaken" is a
dreary word. It sounds like a knell. It is the record of I sharpest sorrows and the prophecy of direst ills. An abyss of misery
yawns in that word forsaken. Forsaken by one who pledges his honor! Forsaken by a friend so long tried and trusted! Forsaken
by a dear relative! Forsaken by father and mother! Forsaken by all! This is woe indeed, and yet it may be patiently born if
the LORD will take us up. But what must it be to feel forsaken of God? Think of that bitterest of cries, "My God, my God,
why hast thou forsaken me?" Have we ever in any degree tasted the wormwood and the gall of "forsaken" in that sense? If so,
let us beseech our LORD to save us from any repetition of so unspeakable a sorrow. Oh, that such darkness may never return!
Men in malice said of a saint, "God hath forsaken him; persecute and take him." But it was always false. The LORD's loving
favor shall compel our cruel foes to eat their own words or, at least, to hold their tongues. The reverse of all this is that
superlative word Hephzibah "the LORD delighteth in thee." This turns weeping into dancing.
Let those who dreamed that they were forsaken hear the LORD
say,
"I will never leave thee nor forsake thee."

WATCHING AND BELIEVING 看和信
What an amazing verse this is. 这真是一段令人惊奇的经文。
We always focus on the thief who came to trust Jesus as his last
act and we forget about the Centurion who said these remarkable words. 我们总是注意到在最后的时候相信主耶稣的那个强盗，而忽略百夫长所说的这些醒目的话。
So who was he? 那么，他是谁？
Was He the man whose servant Jesus healed? Matthew 8 Was
this Cornelius? Acts 10 他是他仆人耶稣医治过的人吗？

We aren't told what his name is, but what he says is truly remarkable. 我们没有听到他的名字，但是他的话的确是醒目的！
So what do we know? 那么，我们知道了什么？
Well
he was in charge of the group of soldiers who crucified Jesus. He had probably done this process hundreds of times, the Romans
chosen method of execution was to crucify the guilty parties. 我们知道，他是掌管钉死耶稣的那群士兵的人。罗马人选择的处死方式是把罪犯钉在十字架上，这种行刑他可能已经干过几百次。
What
was different about this one then? 这一次又有什么不同呢？
Something different had happened, the earth shook, graves were
opened and all this time, he was watching, he had heard the words of Jesus that he had said from the cross, words that were

The
only true reaction to Jesus is to say like the centurion. 对耶稣唯一正确的回应是如百夫长所说。

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and he bowed His head, and gave up the ghost. 30
耶稣尝了那醋，就说，成了。便低下头，将灵魂交付神了。
This is my favorite time of the year. Not just because spring is
here, but because we can celebrate.. yes celebrate the death of Jesus and His resurrection from the dead. These
three small words in the verse above are some of the most awesome words ever spoken. They signify something absolutely extraordinary, something that
defies description. They were the final words of Jesus on the cross and they weren't words of despair. They
were the words of victory, words of power and words that set many free. They signify the death nail for sin, death and satan.
The final nail had not been put in Jesus.. it had been put into the devil and all his works. I
just love Colossians 2:11-15, Jesus had made a public exhibition of all the power of sin and death.

disarmed the principalities and powers that were ranged against us and made a bold display and public example of them, in

The power
of Sin and the devil, weren't just broken at the cross, they were totally smashed.. into the smallest pieces ever. They were/are
unable to be pieced back together.
The
bridge had been built. Sinful men could now approach Holy God, because it was finished. The supreme work of redemption had
been done.. The Perfect Lamb had been slain.. God the Father was satisfied... Jesus had acted as our substitute. 罪恶和魔鬼的力量不仅被十字架破坏，也从此被彻底粉碎。他们不会再从新组合起来。桥梁已经建立。有罪的人现在可以走向神圣的上帝，因为已经完成了。最高的救赎工作已经完成。最完美的羊羔已经被宰杀。圣父上帝已经满意了，耶稣已经作为了我们赎罪的替代。
Let me share one more thing.. During the time of Darkness over the earth..
that three hours.. God poured out his anger.. his righteous anger on His beloved Son.. all Of God's anger was poured out upon
Jesus.. and that was destined for us . This is God's mercy.. not giving us, what we deserve. But giving us grace...giving
us what we don't deserve.. amen
让我再分享一件事，在地球上黑暗时期，那3个小时，上帝倾出了他的愤怒，他在他爱子上正义的愤怒，上帝所有的愤怒都降临在为我们而被派遣的耶稣身上。这是上帝的慈爱，没有因我们的罪而报应我们，但是给予我们恩惠，给予我们与罪恶相反的。阿门！
The
Cross of Calvary is and always will be the place of greatest mercy.. it is where God showed mercy in abundance to unworthy
sinners, but to do that, it had to be the place where God was merciless to His own Beloved Son. I cannot imagine the heart
of God at this time, what Jesus went through for us, was totally amazing and just beyond words, but He had to face separation
from His Father and the full force of God's righteous anger.. which we should have had and which we deserved. I
love the verses in Hebrews 10 这十字架永远是最伟大慈爱的地方，是上帝彰显无限慈爱给不应得的罪人的地方，但要做到这一点，这地必须是上帝对他爱子无情的地方。我不能想象上帝在那时候的心，耶稣为我们所承受的，完全是奇特得无法用言语表达的，但是必须面临和圣父的分离，以及承受完全的承受上帝正义的我们应得的愤怒。 我爱这希伯来书10的篇章。

and goodness), having our hearts sprinkled and purified from a guilty (evil) conscience and our bodies cleansed with pure
water.

A
perfect and pure sacrifice was needed.. Just like the ram in Genesis 22.. one was provided.. Jesus.. God's precious Son..

THE BIRD’S CALL TO WORSHIP…… The birds wake me gently, in the sweetness of morning with the sovereignty of God as their song. And they call me to the window with my coffee and Bible to

the sunlight moves gently on the pages. The God who gives life speaks to me of His righteousness and
His wisdom that lives through the ages. Silence overtakes me and I’m speechless
for a while at the magnitude and glory He possesses. And I realize
that seeing God’s face is so powerful and a personal way that He blesses. My
thoughts start to wander to the cares of this life but God reminds me that I must lift them up. So
I pray for my family…my children…and problems finding peace as I finish my cup. Oh, the God of the Universe showed me
grandeur & beauty and blessed my heart for the day yet to come. And the birds’ call to worship
draws me back in the morning to sit in fellowship with God’s only
